Bravo Monasterio Runway

When 3D printing meets fashion: designing and printing the runway accessories for designer Bravo Monasterio, shown during Fashion Week. Two families of pieces came off our printers. First the shells — modelled, then printed in several sizes, sanded and hand-finished in a chrome effect — worn as a tiara, as ear pieces, or set into the hair. Then a collar-and-shoulder piece made of hundreds of individually printed scales, overlapped and assembled onto a flexible base: it follows the shoulders and moves with the body, where a rigid shell would have frozen the silhouette. Accessories no small production run could have made any other way, printed locally for a show that carried a message: “People first, not papers.”
